To lead our Spanish's market, for both new business commercial results and strategically steering the business for optimal set up and long term impact. This role reports directly to Personio’s VP International. 

The Country Manager, Spain (d/f/m), is accountable for growing and strengthening Personio’s presence in the Spanish market and  to drive new business growth. This role is supported by a General Manager who will interface into the product org and support product localisation in the market. The Country Manager and General Manager for Spain co-lead the market for maximum impact in both the short and longer term.  

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

As Country Manager (d/f/m) for your respective country in Personio, you will be responsible for growing the country with P&L responsibility for the region. Along with the GM for the region, you will identify GTM motions consistent with Personio’s approach, identify product requirements for the region and design. You will lead new market acquisition in the region and co-lead x-fn leadership for your respective region 

In more detail, your responsibilities will include:

  • New business acquisition: Directly leading the sales teams in your respective region to grow the market at pace, acquiring new customers and growing MRR for the region.
  • Deep understanding of the region including TAM, SAM, SOM, businesses by company size, distribution of verticals and overall economic landscape and how this shapes our GTM and product strategy for the region.
  • Deep and continual upgrading of the competitive landscape in the respective regions to inform of our product strategy and GTM strategies
  • Understanding current PMF and where product gaps exist. 
    • With this knowledge, creating a GTM motion to grow the business at the fastest pace possible given current PMF. 
    • With this knowledge, partnering with the GM to create a product strategy (including build/buy/partner) to position ourselves as the number 1 player in the market in the respective region.
  • Being able to bring multiple functions across different departments togetheras one unit to support sustainable growth in the region, including
    • Demand generation efforts including marketing, SDR and commercial partnerships.
    • Post sales leadership including customer success, upsell and support.
  • Managing key metrics for the region such as CAC, CAC/LTV etc.
  • Being the key spokesperson/representative for the region in the market and key events.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Leadership experience: previous experience of leading 2nd line leadership and managing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Sales expertise: has at least 5 years of experience leading new business sales teams to success, over-achieving targets and sustaining high growth.
  • Regional expertise: Understands the Spanish market, and how local dynamics would play within a global organization. Ability to translate local product requirements into our PTech organization with prioritization of asks in mind.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: thrive in leading exploration, while also being able to design and evolve structure to support scaling.
  • XFN/(snr) stakeholder collaboration: understanding of and fostering connections into different parts of the company, collaborating with internal stakeholders to align goals/priorities, solve blockers, secure support.
