About the job

We’re looking for a Senior Legal and Compliance Manager to join our Legal Team and work in close collaboration with our CFO, Joachim von Bonin. Be part of one of the most successful insurtech-startups in Germany selling our services across Europe and Japan.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the internal point of contact for legal questions and the development of solution proposals, with a focus on IT development, regulatory and general contract law
• Independently conceptualize, create, and negotiate complex contracts with domestic and foreign partners
• Support the execution of the compliance program covering the implementation of standards and policies, monitoring of key controls and advising on Compliance related matters (Product development, Economic Sanctions, AML, Customer Journey, Data Protection)
• Handle complaint management and negotiations for out-of-court settlements and coordinate external lawyer
• Conduct legal research and assessments on complex issues

Bring to the team

• Studies in business law or a related field acknowledged in Germany
• Professional experience in the legal department of a company or a law firm
• Excellent knowledge of contract law
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently
• Initiative, assertiveness, attention to detail, and negotiation skills
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German
