This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.

Red Ventures is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team. This person will be responsible for a wide-range of accounting functions supporting the Lonely Planet business. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with leadership to actively engage in the technical and professional development of staff, including detailed review of work products for identification of improvement opportunities and coaching of all staff levels
  • Oversee and manage the timely completion of all work performed by staff, including strategic planning of responsibilities and workload
  • Review and perform account analysis and reconciliation, including review of complex general ledger accounts
  • Oversee the accounting for inventory valuation and related accounts including obsolescence, receipts not billed
  • Responsible for leading the annual international external audit processes
  • Analyze and review journal entries for all staff levels, requisitions, invoices
  • Responsible for the preparation of month-end financial statements and supplemental reports for multiple business units and varying business types
  • Provide technical accounting support and oversight for significant and complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and others as well as new accounting standards
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and accounting standards such as ASC 606 and Inventory accounting standards
  • Utilize existing accounting systems to automate processes and reporting where appropriate

  

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance, CPA is a plus
  • 6+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting roles with previous direct management experience
  • Inventory accounting experience is a must
  • Proficiency utilizing financial systems and reporting packages as well as Microsoft Office products
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective leadership, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player who fosters collaboration and actively contributes to a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Experience with Workday and Netsuite is a plus
  • IFRS experience or experience with international accounts is a plus

Compensation: 

This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included below. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.

  • Total Cash Compensation Range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
