This role in a nutshell:

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Supplier Management, you will be working as part of the centralised supplier management team.  The AP manager is responsible for the group’s AP function and team, covering at its core, invoice processing and timely payments but also all first line Finance queries both internal and external.

This role revolves around bringing experience and knowledge of how AP fits into the wider P2P journey to optimise the AP team’s performance and cross collaboration with the wider P2P function and wider Finance team to serve the best possible outcomes for  the business.

The role also covers, ensuring the health and reliability in our information in our balance sheet reconciliations, cash prepayments ledger and minimising risk of errors, misstatements and unclaimed credits.

Maximising the use of AP automation with a brand new S2P platform, currently in transition. Enable the function to become lean and efficient, reporting on key metrics to the Head of CSM and delivering projects and improvements to make the AP function run in as efficiently as possible.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Reporting on AP KPIs and investigating variances
  • Co-ordinating the AP integration testing of new entities
  • Planning and delivering continuous improvement projects
  • Collaborating with the Treasury team to work efficiently in paying suppliers, managing cash low points and suspense accounts
  • Driving the best possible cost efficiency in terms of price per invoice
  • Developing cost effect ways to process self billed invoices in a controlled and low maintenance method
  • Building tighter controls to the AP and wider P2P function
  • Building, monitoring and reporting on effective KPIs for the cross functional internal and external Finance service desks (JIRA)
  • Ensuring tax compliance and accuracy at the point of invoice processing and ensuring the team has appropriate training and documentation
  • Working with the Centralise Buying Team to support the buyer and spend approver communities
  • Internal and external audit queries
  • Managing a team 5 colleagues
  • Developing training sessions and reviewing process notes
  • Holding AP team on sites and planning sessions to identify areas for improvement, ideas and solutions from the team
  • Holding regular 121s, supporting team development and objective setting

 

You’ll be a successful Accounts Payable Team Leader here at OVO if you…

  • Expert knowledge in Accounts Payable function, transactional finance and processes
  • Thorough approach to work with great interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, proposing, justifying and implementing change
  • You should be diligent with a preference for attention to detail, and be willing to dig and investigate at depth to resolve problems. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills engaging with various teams and senior leaders
  • You should also be team-oriented with a demonstrated track record in coaching.
  • Desirable but not essential - accountancy qualification or working towards (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)

We’ll pay you between £43,000 and £49,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
