How you will make an impact at Vantis

At Vantis, we have a clear mission: to measurably improve the care of patients with chronic illnesses. To achieve this, we are developing a holistic healthcare approach that combines medical excellence on site with the advantages of digital solutions. At the heart of our strategy is a hybrid care concept that integrates modern general practitioner practices with innovative digital tools.

We are looking for a (Senior) AI-Engineer (m/f/d) to design and deliver AI-powered solutions that directly improve patient outcomes and streamline clinical workflows.

This role bridges machine learning, product, and engineering: you’ll work closely with Product Managers to shape concepts into production-ready solutions and ensure they are accurate, explainable, and privacy-first. We develop and test our products directly with our medical practices, enabling us to go from idea to live production in just a few weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to translate product ideas into well-scoped AI/ML solutions with clear success metrics.

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end AI systems — from data pipelines to models and APIs — optimized for accuracy, performance, and explainability.

  • Ensure privacy and security are integral to data handling and model deployment, meeting high standards for handling sensitive health data.

  • Define and run evaluations, experiments, and monitoring to measure quality and continuously improve performance and reliability.

  • Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to building a strong AI culture within the team.

What you need to succeed

  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production (e.g., NLP/LLMs, predictive models, or similar).

  • Strong fundamentals in machine learning and AI, including Python and common frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.

  • Entrepreneurial passion for translating business goals into working products and prioritizing impact over complexity.

  • Familiarity with privacy, security principles, and handling sensitive data; experience in healthcare is a plus but not required.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, proactively owning projects end to end.
