What is the key purpose of a Data Analyst?

As a Data Analyst working on Audience Extension (Audex) in Israel, you will proactively guide our business growth, based on data analysis and statistical research.

Audience Extension (Audex) is a team that was built up two years ago and we continue growing. Our goal is to open for advertisers the possibility to appear in unlimited placements including premium highly viewable locations, including publishers out of our network. This will unlock the potential of customers who wish to appear in places Taboola currently do not dominate.

We do this by promoting Taboola’s sponsored content in profitable placements. We buy indirect supply from the open web and constantly optimize to create revenue from each interaction.

Technically some of this activity works on a super-high scale - bigger than the entire Taboola today. Business-wise it has the potential of hundreds of millions every year.

At Taboola, we currently work in a hybrid work model giving employees the flexibility to work from home a few days a week. We have offices in Ramat Gan and Beer Sheva and are looking to grow to additional locations such as Jerusalem, where our Taboolars have the opportunity to meet their teammates, connect with other teams and socialize with friends.

What are some of the things you do on a day-to-day basis?

• Take part in product-related decisions and identify opportunities for product improvements.
• Research and analyze large volume data sets in order to generate useful conclusions and actionable recommendations.
• Develop data models and dashboards as well as find creative solutions for a variety of challenges never dealt with before.
• Become the focal point for all data related matters, own and manage multiple data initiatives and projects on an on-going and an ad-hoc basis.

What are the skills a good Data Analyst needs to have?

• BA/BS or equivalent related experience in statistics, data analysis, data mining. MSC - an advantage.
• 2 + years of analytical work experience in a data analysis / BI position, preferably in a high data-rich environment.
• Proven experience leading data projects and initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and BI tools (preferably Tableau).
• Independent, self-motivated and ability to multitask.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• High Presentations & Storytelling Skills.
• Strong communication skills and excellent English, required to communicate daily with our global teams.

It would be great if you also have:

• Familiarity with Machine learning concepts – a big advantage
• Python, R or any other scripting language – big advantage
• Statistical knowledge and experience using statistics to analyze datasets – an advantage
• Experience in internet/mobile companies – an advantage
