The Legal department is involved in all aspects of the Tripadvisor business (including subsidiaries, such as Viator and TheFork). The Legal team’s work involves contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, litigation threat assessment and management, internet law, privacy law, consumer marketing law, international legal issues, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, regulatory matters, privacy and compliance.
Tripadvisor is looking for a graduate Solicitor Apprentice to start in August 2024.
Four days a week will be spent working for Tripadvisor either in the central London office or from your home in the UK, and one day will be allocated to study.
The apprenticeship is a 27 month program for those that have completed a law undergraduate degree (or GDL). During the program, the apprentice will prepare for and complete the assessments (SQE 1 and SQE 2) necessary to qualify as a solicitor.
What you’ll do:
You will experience a wide range of legal work, including in the areas of
- Data protection/privacy;
- Compliance; and
- Disputes/Litigation
Some of your key tasks may include:
- Drafting documents and correspondence
- Assisting members of the legal team with a variety of tasks including research and presentations
- Liaising with internal clients (other parts of the Tripadvisor business outside the legal team), law firms, and third parties.
Skills and Experience:
- 2:1 or first degree in Law (or completion of the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) with Commendation or Distinction)
- 120+ UCAS points at A-level, and 8 GCSEs at grade B or above, including Mathematics and English (or equivalent qualifications)
- Fluency in a second European language would be advantageous, but not mandatory
- Prior experience working in an office environment is preferred
