Lincoln International’s Tech M&A team is looking for a first-class associate with relevant experience in sell side transactions, ideally private equity led, and Tech M&A. We are a truly global team of over 150 Tech bankers across three continents, and part of a global investment banking organization with over 1,000 professionals across 15 countries. Our German Tech M&A team is in Munich, Berlin, and Frankfurt. You would be based in one of those offices. We do Tech M&A only, and focus on transactions in the areas of Software, IT Services & Solutions, and Data & AI.
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in an international, supportive, team-oriented environment. In addition to mastering the financial analysis and research skills typical for the position, an Associate at Lincoln International learns about and becomes involved in a transaction from start to finish. Our Associates are the analytical anchor for their deal team and are responsible for preparing, completing, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial modelling and analysis. An Associate is expected to interpret the results of his/her financial analysis, pose questions, and draw conclusions. In addition, the Associate plays a critical role in the preparation of client presentations and is responsible for:
- Preparing marketing materials for sell-side and buy-side advisory assignments
- Identifying and interacting with potential acquirers
- Conducting industry and company-specific research
- Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all presentation materials
- Organizing the due diligence process
- Interacting with clients on a regular basis
- Attending client meetings
- Supporting the marketing activities of the firm within Tech
- Financial modelling
- Carry out company and financial analyses, including valuations.

Qualifications:
Interested candidates should bring the following requirements:
- At least 3 years prior experience as an Analyst and / or Associate in the M&A field
- Significant transaction experience
- An exceptional, well rounded academic background, ideally educated to Masters level in a business-related subject.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to develop and learn
- Interest in and first understanding of Tech business models and sub-sectors
- A proactive and self-motivated approach
- Adaptability, dependability and the ability to manage a dynamic workload
- Clear and engaging communication skills, verbally as well as written
- Ability to relate and connect to other stakeholders quickly- clients, management teams and colleagues
- Collaborative style and a personally engaging manner
- Fluent English and German language skills, both spoken and written
- International experiences and perspectives
