Associate, Visual Production
Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking an Visual Production Associate to direct a key function within the Visual Communications Team that will enable the organization’s Physical Retail agenda.
The Visual Production Associate will work across the team and with cross-functional partners (e.g., Visual, Merchandising, Store Operations, Technology) to produce the communication for all visual direction across all of Wayfair’s brands.
This role is based in Norton & Taunton, MA at our Retail Labs and reports to the Production Manager for Visual Communications. Frequent travel to the Retail Labs, our Boston Copley Office and local Boston stores is required. National travel, outside of Massachusetts, will also occur to support seasonal Floor sets or new store openings. Notification will be given in advance to make travel accommodations. Wayfair’s current hybrid work policy is 4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What You’ll Do
- Design, format and produce elevated communication for Physical Retail Associates, on Visual topics for all of Wayfair’s brands (Wayfair, AllModern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane, Perigold). This includes, but is not limited to seasonal floor set direction, training, how-to’s, VAS, props and signage.
- Production development includes creating templates and illustrations from scratch and working within pre-designed templates across a variety of media.
- Formats vary, including but not limited to presentation slides, InDesign documents, websites, photos, illustrations and videos.
- Support communication production for other Physical Retail topics based on workload and the needs of the business.
- Photograph, record and edit photos/videos taken at the Physical Retail Labs. This may require posing in photos and/or videos to illustrate how to perform specific tasks.
- Meet regularly with cross-functional teams to gather all relevant information and strategy updates in order to design cohesive communication.
- Maintain the “communications aesthetic” for every brand, ensuring that the produced communication supports Brand Creative standards.
- Maintain and enhance brand-specific, simple to use templates for each media type.
- Contribute to and manage a robust graphics library including simple illustrations, icons, schematics and graphs to support content.
- Review and approve assets including designs, photos, etc. for quality, accuracy and consistency, including spelling prior to reviews.
- Work with the Content Team to ensure content in the final product translated as intended to specific media.
- Adhere to deadlines and process for communication reviews and leadership sign-offs.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest job-related technologies including Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Workspace, interactive production, web design and web application integrations.
- Travel to local stores & labs to gain feedback on materials for future enhancements.
- Attend new store openings as needed to support store setup and training sessions. This may require travel outside of the state.
What You’ll Need:
- A current creative digital portfolio and 1+ year(s) of graphic design experience, photography, photoshop and basic editing experience
- Ability to travel to different working locations as needed (local and regional travel), some weekend availability required
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Workspace
- Excellent design, layout and illustration skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask while keeping organized
- Video recording and editing preferred, not required
- Capability to collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams to achieve objectives
- Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures
- Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” be able to operate in a high growth, ambiguous environment
- Physical retail experience preferred, not required
The salary range for this position is $64,000-$70,500* however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
