The Team You Will Join:
The Brand Strategy Lead – Data & Analytics Focus will report to the Director of Brand Strategy and play a critical role in shaping how data, research, and cultural insights inform our brand vision. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, data science, research, and creative storytelling, leveraging analytical rigor and deep consumer understanding to drive the narratives that shape our marketing campaigns, product launches, and broader brand perception.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Consumer Insights, Advertising, Marketing Communications, Regional Marketing Directors, Media, Creative, and Data Science to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies that fuel growth and differentiation.
The Difference You Will Make:
The ideal candidate is both a data-driven thinker and a compelling storyteller, with the ability to translate big data sets, third-party research, and cultural trends into strategic insights that inspire impactful brand initiatives. You have a strong ability to identify patterns, visualize data, and distill complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
You thrive in fast-moving environments, embrace ambiguity, and are just as comfortable analyzing millions of data points as you are crafting a sharp, insight-driven brief.
A Typical Day:
- Work with the Director of Brand Strategy to define where the brand should move over the next 3-5 years based on data-driven insights and cultural trends.
- Analyze and synthesize large data sets, third-party research, and proprietary insights to extract key themes and trends impacting Airbnb’s brand and category.
- Develop compelling data visualizations and frameworks to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders across Marketing, Creative, and Product teams.
- Help define new brand positioning and campaign messaging using data-backed insights, working closely with Brand Strategy, Marketing, and Creative teams.
- Partner with Data Science and Consumer Insights teams to design, interpret, and apply qualitative and quantitative research that shapes brand strategy.
- Act as a bridge between data and creative—ensuring that our campaigns, product launches, and communications are informed by sharp, research-backed insights.
- Monitor cultural and business landscape shifts, identifying emerging trends and consumer behaviors that present new opportunities for Airbnb.
Your Expertise:
- Passion for Airbnb and travel. Hosting experience is a huge plus.
- 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, consumer research, data analysis, or marketing analytics—either client-side or at an agency.
- Deep understanding of consumer insights, cultural trends, and behavioral data, with experience working with large data sets and third-party research tools.
- You use data to simplify and focus, not to complicate.
- Strong ability to visualize data and tell compelling stories with insights, using tools like Tableau, Excel, Google Analytics, or other BI platforms.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to distill complexity into simple, powerful narratives.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changing priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic vision.
- A natural collaborator who thrives in cross-functional environments, bridging strategy, data, and creativity.
This role is perfect for someone who loves both numbers and narratives—a strategist who can spot the signal in the noise and turn research into actionable insights that move a brand forward.
