About the team:

We're agile, use scrum, continuous integration and continuous delivery, deploying to production every single day.

Our engineering team (currently ~200 engineers) is split into organisations which we call Fleets. Fleets focus on a core customer journey (onboarding, security, payments, support, new business, growth and marketing, etc.). Fleets contain smaller teams called Pods, each focusing on a specific aspect of the product.  As the Business Analyst you will be a key part of the Delivery Team, led by Team Lead Nadia Muchenje. Our team works across pods and fleets spreading our mission, delivering key results across engineering.

The role in a nutshell  

You’ll be joining a group of highly motivated Software Engineers and Agile Delivery Leads who you’ll work collaboratively with across our pods to help us succeed in our mission; to put the power of crypto in everyone’s hands.

You’ll improve customer experience by providing valuable insight into true business needs elicited via skilful use of empathy, building meaningful relationships with stakeholders and courageously challenging the status quo. You will be a catalyst for positive change.

You will become a domain expert focusing on Luno’s customer journey and defining how we improve the customer service tools to better support our customers.

Your mission will involve:
  • Bring to life Luno’s mission; “put the power of Crypto in everyone’s hands'“. You will be key to defining the Luno customer experience, focusing on how we build trust with our customers, continually improving our secure but simple customer journey. 
  • Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details and distinguishing user requests from underlying true needs and problems worth solving
  • Eliciting, validating, prioritising and documenting business and technical requirements using a variety of methods suitable for Agile delivery, such as:
  • Proactively communicating with external and internal customers to analyse information needs, functional requirements and business processes
  • Serving as an intermediary between the customer community and the software development team
  • Collaborating with developers and architects to understand technology limitations, recommendations and development options within the underlying business need you are trying to resolve
  • Successfully engaging in multi-system/multi-team initiatives that span across geographic locations and frameworks
  • Reporting project updates and metrics to keep stakeholders in the loop and measuring value
  • Being a bridge between our Pods and Fleets, keeping the engineering team’s focus on the customer experience
A little about you:
  • Proven experience in a Business Analyst (BA) role, working within a delivery team
  • Experience of planning and management of analysis activities through delivery
  • Exposure to working within an Agile environment or understanding the principles of Agile software development
  • Stakeholder management experience and ability to build relationships
  • Experience working in in leading multiple complex projects
  • Driven with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating workshops
  • Experience of working in technology/digital industry (or similar)
  • Desire to own the end result and do the right thing for Luno customers
  • Experience using tools such as miro, visio or similar  
  • You may have a business analyst certification
