Business Director (eCommerce)

As Business Director (eCommerce) you will lead the AKQA proposition and offering in the Nordics and DACH region. Working alongside the Group Technical Director (Denmark), Managing Director (Germany), and +120 Tech Team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing large-scale commerce projects, assisting clients in developing product concepts, design, and overseeing the technical implementation, management, and operation of their eCommerce systems. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Business Development: lead our business development strategy across the DACH region, focusing on commerce builds, and leveraging the AKQA proposition within Strategy, Design and Tech.
- Sales and Pipeline Management: achieve an annual new business revenue target, manage the sales process from lead generation to conversion, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Client Success Management: Foster strong relationships, ensure seamless project delivery, and drive continuous improvements to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Spearhead AKQA's initiatives to implement our eCommerce accelerator solution based on CommerceTools and Contentful.
- Partnership and Relationship Building: expand existing relationship with MACH Alliance Tech partners, and support other partnerships with Sitecore, Adobe, and Shopify Leadership and Collaboration: work closely with the leadership teams in Denmark and Germany, as well as across the AKQA network, to ensure alignment and support for business growth initiatives.
- Marketing and Influence: support marketing strategies and participate in thought leadership activities to raise AKQA's profile and demonstrate our value proposition.
QUALITIES & CHARACTERISTICS
- Fluency in German is required, plus business-level English language proficiency
- Based in Germany, AKQA HQ is in Berlin, but possibility to work remotely.
- Previous enterprise-level business development and sales experience at consultancies or agencies – within Commerce, web technology, and/or digital marketing solutions
- An actionable network in DACH markets that can regularly visit customers’ and prospects’ offices in this area.
- Proven expertise in delivering platform solutions, such as Adobe Experience Cloud, CommerceTools, Contentful, Sitecore, Shopify etc.
- Ability to consult with CXO-level stakeholders on platform technologies.
- Hunger to consultatively sell new services, with a demonstrated track record of over-delivery against targets.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams.
- Experience managing and working with nearshore and offshore application development team
