The Product Led Growth Team

Okta is looking for a Business Operations Manager - WIC PLG to build out and support our new Product Led Growth (non-enterprise) business segment for our Workforce Identity product. The PLG team is responsible for driving signups, activation, engagement, retention and conversion via a product first experience that relies on minimal one on one interaction with customers. We work with many teams across the company to provide an excellent customer experience that brings growth and helps us achieve our goals with these metrics.

The Business Operations Manager Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building things from the ground up. We are looking for someone who is autonomous, organized and has a strong operational mindset. You will identify ways to fill in gaps and make solid recommendations to create and improve processes and maintain business continuity. This person will also need strong prioritization skills and will be responsible for creating new processes while looking for growth opportunities to support this GTM segment at Okta. You will partner closely with leadership and colleagues throughout the organization including business technology, product, research, design, finance, sales, data and marketing.

What you’ll be doing 

You should be comfortable with analyzing large data sets in Google sheets/Excel, and driving operational projects from start to finish. We are looking for someone that is able to come up with creative ideas informed by data, build out new processes and manage several projects at once with the ability to prioritize effectively. You should also have familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker, and project management tools like Asana, Jira and Confluence. You should be comfortable communicating asynchronously through Slack, creating reports and presentations that are easy to understand and share with a broad set of stakeholders. This is a cross-functional, individual contributor role that will be supporting the PLG segment and will require creating strong relationships with leaders across the organization and a lot of teamwork.

What you’ll bring to the role

PLG Operations: 

  • Understanding of the PLG landscape and best practices.
  • Customer focused, KPI oriented decision making.
  • Focus on ways to track and improve our metrics related to PLG for Workforce Identity.
  • Understand the business as a whole and make recommendations that will benefit the broader organization and maintain business continuity from an operational standpoint.
  • Run customer research to gather insights to determine where to focus as we build out the PLG motion for Workforce Identity.
  • Build strong relationships with partnering teams like Product, Marketing, Business Technology, Research, Design, Sales and even Finance to roll out initiatives and processes. 

Project Management:

  • Schedule and run regular project meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage the nuances of the team’s projects, keeping initiatives on track.
  • Build out and maintain requirements and decision docs to keep projects organized.
  • Present to stakeholders on the status of projects and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Manage and track tickets the team has logged internally, prioritizing as necessary and following up.
  • Create reports for tracking operational projects and sharing results.
  • Build strong relationships with partnering teams like Product, Marketing, Business Technology, Research, Design, Sales and even Finance to roll out initiatives and processes.
Attributes:
  • 6+ years of experience in operations, project/program/product management or related roles
  • BA/BS degree or related work experience
  • Ideally PLG experience within SaaS 
  • Experience gathering user research and providing solid insights
  • Software skills desired: Advanced Google Spreadsheets/Excel, Tableau/Looker, project management tools like Asana, Jira and Confluence, Slides/Powerpoint, communications tools like Slack/Teams.
  • Experience running operational projects from ideation to completion
  • Data-driven and KPI focused 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and create efficiencies while delivering operational excellence
  • Experience working remotely in a high-growth environment across time zones, comfort with asynchronous communication

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$104,000—$156,000 CAD
