CAPTURE MANAGER (GOVERNMENT SALES) – TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
Starshield leverages SpaceX’s Starlink technology and launch capability to support national security efforts. While Starlink is designed for consumer and commercial use, Starshield is designed for government use, with an initial focus on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. SpaceX Government Sales is expanding the team to support the deployment of Starshield capabilities for the U.S. Government. This role will assist in setting sales strategy and capture of Starshield programs.
Candidate will have expert knowledge of Department of Defense and U.S. Government budgetary cycle processes to include demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) activities, OSD-Policy, Services and Joint Service processes.
As a Capture Manager, candidate will support outreach to the U.S. Government and industry to include left-of-solicitation customer engagement. Ideal candidate will be able to independently identify new business opportunities, evaluate and prioritize opportunities against long-term strategic SpaceX vision and engineering objectives, and work with customers to ensure contract requirements are executable while maintaining flexibility for iteration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently lead strategic engagement with action officer level to Flag level US Government stakeholders to identify opportunities to grow new work and expand existing work
- Secure contracts with government organizations
- Understand the competition landscape across SpaceX portfolios; develop and implement win themes across business areas with quantifiable outcomes
- Maintain working knowledge of Starshield technology and capabilities to independently communicate them to DoD stakeholders
- Work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere where technologies and capabilities are never static
- Actively collaborate with mission management, government affairs, engineering, customer operations, finance, and other internal business units to drive sales results and efficiency
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in business development for government acquisition and/or finance
- 3+ years of experience with strategy and forecasting
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience working in the US national security/intelligence community, either as a civil servant, active duty, or contractor
- Experience with FAR-based, OTA, IDIQ and other Government contract vehicles
- Independently motivated self-starter with a demonstrated track record of project ownership and outcomes
- Experience working with satellite, launch, and other aerospace systems; demonstrated knowledge of government launch and satellite markets and US Government needs and capability gaps
- Strong penchant for innovation in process improvement
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance preferred. Must be willing to pursue a clearance if not already cleared. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass DoD level background checks for entry into various government facilities
- Ability to work irregular business hours and/or travel up to 50% of the time
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Capture Manager: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
