Fastly is at a pivotal point in our growth journey, building on recent successes and poised for significant expansion. We are seeking a Chief Product Officer to strategically lead our rapidly growing product organization. Reporting directly to our CEO and serving as a key member of our executive team, you will be instrumental in defining and executing a platform product vision, strategy, and roadmap that not only anticipates the future of the internet's edge but also sharply focuses our efforts on delivering increased revenue through profitable customer growth and disciplined investment.

Chief Product Officer

As CPO, you will oversee Product Management, Product Marketing, Design, Documentation, and Product Operations. You'll ensure our cutting-edge technology strategy and aggressive business growth objectives are tightly aligned to maximize market impact and shareholder value. This includes working closely with Engineering to build efficient, motivated, and coordinated teams, and working with our Go-to-Market teams to ensure our product has the largest possible impact in the market.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategically lead and champion a profitable product vision that aligns with Fastly’s business goals for sustainable growth, focusing on high-value enterprise customer segments and emerging edge use cases like AI and ML.

  • Drive innovation by anticipating complex customer needs and industry trends to develop differentiated products that deliver significant ROI, ensuring our product strategy is tightly integrated with overall business goals, balancing technical feasibility with efficient resource allocation and maximized gross margins.

  • Deeply understand and prioritize the needs of Fastly’s global enterprise customers, from engineers to C-level executives, leveraging competitive insights, feedback, and data to inform product decisions that drive new customer acquisition and expansion.

  • Oversee all phases of product development from concept to launch, ensuring excellence in execution with a keen eye on ROI for every initiative, and optimize product lifecycle management processes to prioritize initiatives that most effectively contribute to revenue growth and operational efficiency.

  • Lead pricing optimization efforts to ensure product profitability, competitive positioning, and long-term sustainability, directly contributing to Fastly's financial performance.

  • Apply your technical and business acumen to lead and transform our technology business, encompassing global infrastructure, networking, and distributed systems. This will guide our product innovation effectively, with a strong appreciation for performance, reliability, and security at scale.

  • Navigate the complexities of enterprise-grade security and the rapidly evolving landscape of edge computing, driving the product roadmap for our compelling and differentiated product offerings.

  • Make robust, data-driven investment decisions, ensuring capital is allocated to initiatives with the highest potential for profitable growth.

  • Lead with exceptional communication and cross-functional influence as you align stakeholders across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure product success, revenue targets, and efficient go-to-market strategies.

  • Simplify complex technical concepts and articulate product strategy and its financial impact to both technical and non-technical audiences, serving as an executive presence and thought leader who influences key industry stakeholders.

  • Build and scale a world-class Product organization for growth—encompassing Product Management, Product Marketing, Design, Documentation, and Product Operations- attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent while fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture that drives aggressive, profitable growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • 20+ years of global product leadership within entrepreneurial, high-growth, B2B cloud infrastructure, or platform technology businesses (security plus). Proven ability to drive product strategy and execution through periods of significant scaling and market evolution, balancing innovation with fiscal discipline.

  • Deep B2B Software/SaaS & infrastructure experience; extensive experience bringing highly technical enterprise software solutions to market, particularly those sold to technical buyers (DevOps, SRE, CIO, CTO, CISO, etc.) and large enterprise organizations.

  • Proven track record of driving demand and accelerating customer acquisition through product-led strategies. This includes maximizing user/developer engagement to generate opportunities, optimizing in-product experiences to foster adoption and expansion, and developing efficient processes that directly translate to increased revenue and a significant competitive advantage.

  • Track record of building strong, high-performing teams. Exceptional people leadership experience with a proven ability to hire, develop, and grow a world-class product organization that thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

  • Global multi-product experience across a diverse set of customers and product lines, with a clear understanding of how to manage complex portfolios and prioritize for business impact.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field preferred; Master's a strong plus.
