CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER (STARLINK)

As a Construction Projects Manager at our Starlink Production facility, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and specialists across various disciplines to spearhead the construction and activation of essential infrastructure. Your role will oversee the implementation of facilities improvements and managing large-scale capital projects from conception to completion. Operating within a fast-paced and innovative environment, you'll wield your expertise to drive transformative changes, ensuring the facility maintains its cutting-edge status. This includes owning tasks/projects from start to finish, with the goal of creating a world-class facility that can support the mission of connecting people across the globe and enabling life beyond Earth. This position is based in Bastrop, Texas (Greater Austin, TX Area)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the construction, and activation of infrastructure projects across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project scope, budget, and timeline
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts, monitoring progress and addressing deviations in real-time
  • Coordinate with the design team, external contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project compliance and timely completion
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field promptly, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets
  • Oversee the entire construction lifecycle, from initial planning and design consultation to final inspection and closeout, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout
  • Support procurement processes, including material requisitions and vendor selection, to support project execution

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or engineering related discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience with project management of major construction projects, including estimating, cost control, and contractor management
  • Proficiency in a project management software
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and building infrastructure, with experience in conceptual design and budgeting
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations, such as the National Electric Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and International Building Code
  • Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under extended work hours and tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project stakeholders effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by project needs
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Valid driver's license

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:    

Pay range:    Construction Project Manager/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year    Construction Project Manager/Level II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
