Vox Media is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Growth to drive the growth strategy for our consumer revenue business across Vox Media brands. This leadership role will be responsible for leading key consumer revenue initiatives, optimizing growth across new and existing channels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, data-driven growth strategies.
As a pivotal leader within the Consumer Revenue department, you will define and execute strategies to scale customer acquisition, leveraging a combination of technical expertise, financial metrics, and audience insights. You will work closely with key stakeholders across Analytics, Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Brand Marketing, to ensure alignment with Vox Media’s broader growth objectives.As the Director of Growth, you will have a direct impact on shaping the future of consumer revenue and play a key role in shaping subscription and membership businesses for Vox Media. This position offers a unique opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader to shape the next phase of Consumer Revenue growth, fostering innovation while managing the marketing acquisition funnel from lead generation to conversion.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Drive Growth Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive acquisition strategies to drive growth, focusing on both paid and organic channels. Manage and optimize acquisition funnels, targeting new audience segments, testing, and optimizing campaigns to maximize conversion. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging marketing channels, and competitor strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Build Scalable Marketing Programs: Oversee all acquisition efforts across digital marketing (social media, search, display), offline channels (OOH, podcasts), and affiliate/partnership/influencer marketing. Lead multi-channel campaigns, ensuring efficient budget allocation and maximizing ROI. Identify new channels, messaging, targeting, and capability opportunities to drive growth.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage audience insights, first-party data, and financial metrics to inform acquisition strategies and optimize campaigns across channels. Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics teams to create accurate forecasts, models, and dashboards to evaluate results and influence strategy.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand Marketing, and Creative to ensure alignment and execution of growth strategies and marketing campaigns. Review campaign performance with relevant creative and editorial teams to ensure ongoing optimization and innovation.
- Leadership and Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence, ensuring the team is aligned with strategic goals and positioned to meet ambitious growth targets. Set clear KPIs and growth targets, holding the team accountable for performance and continuously optimizing strategies.
- 8+ years of experience in growth marketing or related functions, preferably within a fast-paced, consumer-facing business. Expertise across paid and organic digital marketing, email marketing, partnerships, and offline channels.
- 5+ years in a leadership capacity, with experience building and managing high-performing teams. Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies that scale across multiple platforms and teams.
- Extensive experience with acquisition funnels, marketing tech stacks, data pipelines, and A/B testing to optimize marketing efforts.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and make data-driven decisions to maximize growth investments.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey strategic insights, results, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive aligned, efficient execution of growth initiatives.
- Basic coding skills, marketing automation expertise, and knowledge of data structures and SQL is a plus.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
Pay Range$120,000—$135,000 USD
