Copy Editor, PS

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Copy edit .com articles across the PS network for grammar, punctuation, clarity, style, accuracy, and spelling, adhering closely to PS’s style guide and editorial guidelines
- Copy edit content for other teams throughout the brand (video, marketing, social, design, branded, etc.) for grammar, punctuation, clarity, style, accuracy, and spelling.
- Respond to copy questions from editors and other departments as needed
- Proactively suggest improvements to processes and strategies both within copy team and across edit
- Regularly sends feedback and reminders on copy style and grammar to writers and editors via email and Slack as necessary
- Stays in good communication with senior copy editor on both a day-to-day and big-picture level.
- Takes feedback from senior copy editor to improve copy editing skills.
SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:
- Supporting excellence across copy for the brand
- Having a firm understanding of the PS voice and copyediting accordingly
- Having a firm understanding of PS’s SEO best practices, and ensuring posts follow SEO guidelines in links, tags, and search titles
- Being proficient with PS style, tagging guidelines, and basic HTML
- Being able to move quickly and shift priorities as needed.
WHO YOU ARE
- 2+ years of experience in writing/editing/blogging, online publishing, or related field
- 2+ years of online copy editing experience (required)
- A thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and AP and Chicago style (required)
- A knowledge of digital media
- Experience working directly in a CMS
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic HTML skills

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
