Why Naughty Dog? 

For nearly 40 years, Naughty Dog has been crafting best-selling, critically acclaimed games that constantly push the boundaries of narrative, gameplay, and technology. Naughty Dog recently released The Last of Us Part II Remastered as well as a current generation remake of The Last of Us Part I for the PS5 . We're also proud to say that The Last of Us Part I is now available for the first time on PC. Currently, we’re busy at the kennel working on a brand-new single player game that we're excited about and we'd love to find talented individuals to join us.

Who we're looking for:

  • Complex problem-solving: Design, develop, maintain new and existing software used by multiple departments in the company. This includes building a new editor used to create the gameplay content of our games and creating new logic in our upcoming titles
  • Collaboration and Needs Assessment: Work closely with various departments within the company to identify their needs for new software development. This involves regular interaction and communication to ensure that the software systems are designed and implemented according to the identified needs
  • Software Design and Implementation: Design and implement identified software systems. This includes rectifying defects in both existing and future software systems developed by yourself and others
  • Equipment and Operating systems: Work with a variety of equipment including workstations, servers, and console development kits. Operate under various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Playstation OS
  • Product Utilization: Work with various products including Microsoft Visual Studio, Autodesk Maya, Mysql Database, Redis Database, Cygwin, the Windows SDK, the Playstation SDK, the QT library, and Jira
  • Responsibilities may evolve based on needs

What skills you will use:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or in a related field
  • Experience with PC Application programming
  • Experience in creating one or more of the following PC applications in C++ or C# level editor, art prototype catalogue/database, animation/cinematic editor, material/shader editor, dcc plug-ins, build tools, data messaging tools, lighting tools or equivalent software
  • Experience working in the video game industry
  • 3D math skills (especially linear algebra and vector math)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.Base pay is one component of our total compensation package. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location, as well as additional compensation components, such as annual bonus, profit sharing, and other incentive plans.  In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. This role also may be eligible for a bonus package. Click here to learn more.
