Corporate Communications Manager
Deliveroo is hiring a Corporate Communications Manager UKI to join the Global Communications and Policy team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications UK and Ireland, you will play an important and leading role in helping Deliveroo protect and build its reputation.
You will have a passion for corporate communications, the media, government and current affairs, and enjoy working across communications - business, news, trade and owned channels - and public affairs day-to-day.
What you'll do:
- Support the Head of Corporate Communications with all media relations in the UK and Ireland, including managing our corporate press office and handling incoming media queries from the national print and broadcast media and engaging directly with journalists on a wide range of issues and stories
- Support the Head of Corporate Communications with the creation of positive business announcements and creative partnerships and campaigns, focused on the most important areas of Deliveroo policy - e.g. healthy eating, supporting Deliveroo riders, CSR programmes
- Identify new and interesting opportunities for Deliveroo to build its corporate reputation in the national and local and trade media - supporting our restaurant, grocery, retail and advertising business
- Support on profiling opportunities for Deliveroo’s leadership team in the UK & Ireland - in the media or at events and conferences
- Create high-quality briefing materials to support the CEO, Executive Team and the Board with media interviews and meetings, and all corporate-related internal briefing documents
- Ensure Deliveroo is building corporate reputation through owned channels - particularly LinkedIn, delivering high quality content, videos and posts with our agency partners
- Take a leading role on Deliveroo’s reputation in Ireland
- Supporting on the management of the UK and Ireland corporate communications agencies
What we're looking for:
- A confident media handler who enjoys engaging directly with journalists - with strong press office and issues management experience, and confidence communicating complex and sensitive issues to national media
- Experience in corporate PR (in-house/agency), with work on relevant clients or businesses that are high profile and on the news agenda
- An in-depth understanding of the media and political landscape in the UK and Ireland with an excellent antenna for successful stories and a desire to work on current policy issues which are at the top of the news agenda
- A track-record of landing positive corporate coverage in the national and trade media and building successful campaigns which have an impact
- Good network of media contacts in news, business and trade media
- A basic understanding of financial communications is a benefit
- Experience in using owned channels, especially LinkedIn, for corporate reputation - and experience developing high quality and engaging content
- Someone who is passionate about corporate communications, a team player, and is keen to be a core part of a high-performing and supportive team.
