The Community You Will Join:
Airbnb’s in-house Creative team is a multi-disciplinary group of designers, art directors, writers, and makers working together to shape and express the brand across every touchpoint. As part of the Marketing organization, we partner closely with Advertising, Product Design, and Social to tell meaningful stories that inspire people to engage with Airbnb—whether that’s traveling, hosting, or simply connecting with the platform in a new way. Our work spans global campaigns, real-time social activations, brand identity, editorial, experiential, and everything in between.
The Difference You Will Make:
As Creative Director, Art on the newly formed Social team, you’ll lead the development of breakthrough, concept-led creative ideas for Airbnb’s always-on social presence. You’ll work closely with a dedicated copy partner and cross-functional teammates to elevate how Airbnb shows up in culture—delivering smart, social-first storytelling that sparks conversation, builds community, and deepens brand love.
This is a senior individual contributor (hands-on) role for an experienced art director who leads by doing: someone with a passion for culture and craft, an eye for what’s next, and the drive to push ideas from concept to execution.
A Typical Day:
- Lead and create best-in-class visual storytelling across Airbnb’s social channels
- Concept and execute compelling social-first campaigns and content alongside your copy partner
- Champion breakthrough ideas and translate insights into bold creative direction
- Collaborate with producers, editors, brand teams, and external partners to bring work to life
- Advocate for best practices in social creative and help evolve the visual language of Airbnb across formats and platforms
- Stay tapped into trends in design, social, pop culture, and tech—and bring fresh thinking to the table
Your Expertise:
- 12+ years of experience in art direction or visual design, with a focus on content and campaigns for culturally relevant brands
- Deep portfolio of high-impact work across social, digital, film, and experiential
- Proven track record of leading cross-platform, social-first campaigns that resonate with online communities
- Expert-level visual taste and attention to detail, with fluency in design principles and production processes
- Experience working across in-house, agency, and/or studio environments
- Strong creative leadership, with the ability to guide teams while executing your own ideas
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills—able to articulate concepts clearly and persuasively to partners at all levels
- A passion for Airbnb’s mission and a curiosity for how the brand can thrive in new spaces
Your Location:
This position is US - Remote Eligible, with the expectation to work PST hours. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Pay Range$208,000—$260,000 USD
