In the Customer Balances team, we're working to build and optimise credit risk and collections capability at OVO, with a particular emphasis on reducing the bad debt charge and delivering good customer outcomes.

 

This role in a nutshell:

As Credit Risk Strategy Lead, you’ll build and optimise credit risk capability at OVO, with a particular emphasis on reducing the bad debt charge and delivering good customer outcomes. 

You will be responsible for building out best-in-class policies, processes and strategies across the whole credit risk lifecycle with a focus on early intervention. The role supports the Head of Credit Risk & Onboarding on delivering our vision out across the business areas.

You’ll be working collaboratively with team members across the company to promote purpose-led, data driven decision making into our credit risk and collections landscapes to improve our business performance and customer outcomes.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Design and maintain strategies to improve our customer outcomes and commercial performance in acquisition decisioning, pre-arrears & data enhancement strategies. 
  • Unlock the power of bureau data to design scorecard models to optimise the evaluation of risk at point of customer origination 
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyse performance across the portfolio with clearly communicated conclusions & recommendations for improvement 
  • Ensure that appropriate reporting, together with guardrails, is in place to monitor the effectiveness of strategies and flag risks appropriately.
  • Leading the identification and definition of key projects (problem statements) that enable OVO to achieve best-in-class capability
  • Working with team members across the business to create cross-functional teams to deliver against our value outcomes
  • Manage third party relationships and assess opportunities to implement new best in class solutions.

 

You’ll be a successful Strategy Lead here at OVO if you…

  • Experience building out credit risk and collections strategies within Utilities or Financial Services
  • Approach everything with a data first approach and have experience utilising analytics to understand credit risk or collections performance.
  • You will be ideally be experienced in core analysis technologies, with knowledge of SQL/ Big Query & Excel/Sheets skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and deliver a succinct, confident message to a wide range of team members
  • Strong awareness of the economic climate and regulatory environment related to credit risk
  • Proactive communication and stakeholder management. 
  • Are comfortable at juggling multiple things at once! there will be a lot of variety
  • Passionate about improvement and getting things right for our customers. Proactively searching and discovering new opportunities to enhance our capabilities.
  • Love solving complex problems and making a difference through delivery.

We’ll pay you between £62,000 and £80,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, let us know!
