About the jobWe are seeking a Customer Enablement Security Officer to lead a team of analysts responsible for addressing InfoSec-related customer inquiries at Twilio. In this role, you will manage a InfoSec Customer Facing Team, Twilio’s External Trust Center, InfoSec Related Customer Escalations, and more.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you’ll:
- Spend a significant portion of your time collaborating closely with our Security Business Enablement team, particularly early in your career at Twilio to fully engrain yourself within the business. You will support various initiatives and projects, focusing on planning, designing, developing, and reviewing our infrastructure and software to meet rigorous security requirements and safeguard Twilio’s customer data.
- As a primary focus, leveraging the information you develop on a continuous basis to be able to confidently and successfully engage with our most strategic and largest customers, representing InfoSec as a key spokesperson while interacting with their CEOs, CTOs, CISOs, CIOs, Architects, Engineers, and more.
- Lead and coordinate high-value customer incidents related to Fraud, Support, SIRT, and other security focused issues or concerns impacted our customers.
- Work with Twilio account teams to build and maintain relationships with Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and their organizations, establishing Twilio's credibility as a provider of world-class information security solutions. Address any concerns within the context of their regulatory, political, and IT environments.
- Support and enable the Go-To-Market team by explaining how information security concerns can impact and benefit their sales opportunities, with a particular emphasis on Solutions Engineers.
- Act as an industry thought leader across the globe showcasing Twilio’s strong position in information security.
- Monitor and analyze emerging security trends, sharing insights with customers and area leadership, and guiding them through the potential impacts on their industry.
- Lead security presentations, demonstrations, and workshops in industry forums, providing thought leadership on Twilio’s security portfolio.
- Develop and maintain industry expertise, staying current with the latest advancements in security, including new technologies, competitors, and internal product and service offerings.

Required:
- 12+ years experience working in a security-focused role in a technology-related industry, including 6+ years in a customer facing position.
- In-depth knowledge of security technologies, standards, and best practices.
- Proven, proactive communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain BU relationships, particularly with GMs and their senior leaders.
- Ability to articulate complex problems to various stakeholders of all levels and distill information accordingly based on your audience's level
- Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, application security, and cryptography..
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders dealing with competing priorities.
- Familiarity with common security compliance, certification, and attestation frameworks and regulations (i.e. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOX, HITRUST)
- Experience working successfully in a distributed-systems environment with cloud-native deployment models.
- Experience in designing and understanding complex technology architectures and applying best practices to ensure existing and new system design adheres to baseline controls and security best practises
- Information security industry accreditations, e.g. CISSP
Desired:
- Previous experience in Telecom, SIP, Contact Center, and Security is a plus.
- Previous software development experience in any of the following areas:
- Built Apps based on Twilio APIs, a big plus
This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado or Washington D.C.: $180,000 - $226,000
- Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $190,000 - $239,000
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
