We’re looking for a Data Project Manager.
As the Data Project Manager, you will guide the building of scalable data infrastructure, manage data-related projects, and orchestrate data meetings to ensure smooth data operations across the company.
This role combines product management expertise working alongside data engineering and BI, project management skills, and complex cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Data Infrastructure and Reporting Development:
Define and guide the development of a robust data infrastructure to support analytics and reporting needs on the data we acquire and process, for our suite of client facing products.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and BI teams to build scalable data pipelines and databases.
Analyze and optimize data processes to maintain high standards of data quality and relevance.
Encourage innovation and adoption of new tools and technologies to improve data operations.
2. Manage Data Projects:
Oversee and manage hands-on projects focused on prioritizing data acquisition, data composition, risk management, and mitigation, ensuring they capture business strategy and needs, while meeting deadlines, milestones, and other project aspects.
Align cross-functional teams and interests (R&D, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, BI, Business, Operations etc) to dive into technical details and maintain project goals.
Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress, manage risks, and report to management.
3. Orchestrate And Manage Strategic Data Meetings:
Act as the primary consolidator and organizer of monthly and quarterly data meetings, presenting to C-Suite level, and bringing together content from different R&D teams.
Ensure a holistic view of the organization's data strategy and facilitate alignment among all stakeholders.
Identify , flag and manage risks or issues that arise from the integration of disparate data efforts across teams.
Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business units, translating complex data concepts into actionable insights.
Must-Have Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in BI, with hands-on practice in data engineering, and backend development
- A focus on big data at scale and complexity.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Tableau; Python experience is preferred.
- Strong technical skills with a focus on relational databases and big data technologies.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to query, structure, and process data effectively.
- Experience managing complex data projects end to end
- Experience collaborating in large cross-functional settings, including R&D, data collection, data engineering, data science, and BI.
- Proven experience in writing technical specifications related to data flow and structure.
