Are you ready to take on an exciting new challenge? We are seeking a Design System Lead (m/f/d) to elevate the EGYM portfolio (Wellpass & Gymtech) and the way we work in our product development. Drive the vision, management and continuous improvement of our design system used across multiple product teams. Based in Munich, you’ll shape a product that helps employees build healthy, enjoyable habits.
- Design System Ownership: You own and develop a Design System for micro web apps, native apps, and desktop portals that meets the needs of EGYM’s multi-product teams, ensuring brand and UX consistency across platforms while supporting a flexible white-label approach
- Component Creation: You create, iterate, and refine design system components, including UX patterns and micro-interactions
- Guidelines Development: You produce clear guidelines for applying components, styles, and patterns, based on semantic tokens and ensuring integration with the code base
- Project Management: You lead project management for the design system, ensuring successful implementation and measurable efficiency
- Team Guidance: You guide designers in their contribution to the design system, raise the technical bar within the design team by enabling smarter and more efficient solutions through new components and technological updates
- Cross-Team Collaboration: You collaborate with product management, engineering, and other design teams to ensure consistent system adoption organization-wide
- Vision Setting: You drive the vision of continuous development of the design system-related processes with the Head of Design and the engineering team
- Experience: You have 3+ years experience in designing and scaling durable design systems in large product organizations
- Technical Expertise: You are highly familiar with Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines (iOS), micro web app technology, third-party component libraries, and API integration. Coding experience is a significant advantage
- Project Leadership: You excel managing complex projects that involve collaboration across different teams and organizational boundaries in a fast-paced environment
- Inclusivity Focus: You are passionate about creating inclusive, user-friendly designs that meet accessibility standards
- Creativity: You like to be creative, and innovating and keep an eye on other product and technological trends and best practices
- Language Skills: You are fluent in English
- Product Understanding: You gain deep insight into our products and user base
- System Enhancement: You take ownership of the existing design system and develop it further with the design team
- Process Improvement: You assess and refine contributions from designers and engineers to the design system
- Roadmap Creation: You develop a strategic roadmap for future design system enhancements, prioritizing based on feedback and business needs
- Relationship Building: You establish trust and collaboration with designers and stakeholders across the organization
