About You:

As a Player-Coach Digital Advisor (SDR) at Tulip, you’ll play a pivotal role in both driving Tulip’s growth and shaping the future of our sales team. In this hybrid role, you’ll be leading from the front—acting as a top-performing individual contributor while simultaneously coaching and inspiring a team of Digital Advisors (SDRs). You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams, collaborating on strategies to break into target accounts and generate qualified pipeline opportunities for our sales executives.

 

In your individual contributor role, you’ll be the first point of contact with potential customers, engaging decision-makers to understand their operational challenges and positioning Tulip’s cutting-edge platform as a transformative solution. You’ll become an expert in the manufacturing space, using your knowledge and curiosity to tailor outreach and create meaningful, engaging conversations that open doors for new business.

As a coach, you’ll have the unique opportunity to help shape and mentor a team of driven SDRs. Your leadership will go beyond just tracking KPIs; you’ll inspire, motivate, and empower the team to grow their skills, meet ambitious goals, and build successful careers in sales. You’ll conduct training sessions, offer 1:1 coaching, and foster an environment where people are encouraged to take risks, learn, and push boundaries.

What skills do I need? 

Proven experience as a Sales Development Representative, ideally within SaaS or technology environments.A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering quality pipeline opportunities.Experience coaching or leading a team, with a passion for motivating others and driving performance.Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with decision-makers and inspire your team.Comfortable working with CRM systems like Salesforce and using sales engagement tools such as SalesLoft.Ability to analyze data and use insights to make informed decisions and improvements.Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Player (Individual Contributor):

Generate qualified opportunities by executing outbound sales activities, including cold calls, emails, and social selling. Support high priority account engagement.Identify and research target accounts and industries, including some of Tulip’s most strategic accounts, to engage key decision-makers.Partner with the sales team to develop account strategies and outbound tactics.Maintain daily activity benchmarks, consistently hitting or exceeding opportunity quota.Track all activities in the CRM, ensuring data accuracy and pipeline visibility.

Coach (Leadership):

Lead and mentor a team of SDRs by offering guidance, support, and training to improve performance.Support critical SDR operational initiatives such as growth planning, account list development, programmatic cross-team qualification, and outreach best-practices documentation. Monitor SDR performance metrics (call volume, email activity, opportunities created, etc.) and provide actionable feedback.Foster a collaborative, high-energy environment where team members are motivated and challenged to meet and exceed goals.Conduct regular 1:1s with team members to review performance, address challenges, and develop growth plans.Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to optimize lead generation processes and ensure alignment on messaging.
