We are a growing team looking for a Director, Global Rewards and People Experience to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. For this role, we are looking for a leadership profile that is keen to shape the strategy and take end-to-end ownership in the execution. The company is in a fast pace of transformation and growth, leading to a dynamic environment where comfort in ambiguity and ability to create clarity and direction is an eminent part of the skills and attitude of successful leaders at sennder. The role is located in our Amsterdam or Berlin office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO …

As a Director, Global Rewards and People Experience you will own and lead the design and implementation of the reward strategy covering equity plans, compensation, benefits. Also you’ll be leading the people insights team, the people tech ecosystem and people operations including our local  outsourced payroll providers. The leadership of the operations team will enable you to ensure a flawless and compliant execution of the people processes creating a distinct employee experience. 

The team that you’ll lead covers the different functional domains. It is important you enable and coach the team to develop and grow their career within sennder. Your personal focus will be on driving the impact of the team, collaborating closely with the Chief People Officer and entire sennder executive team to support our ambitious business growth. In this role, you will

  • Develop and implement the total rewards strategy for the different target audiences in the employee base of sennder. This includes equity strategy, compensation & benefits as well as variable pay to support the company in future growth and ambition to be an employer of choice.
  • Drive a consistent and equitable compensation framework including job leveling, compensation positioning, variable pay and incentive schemes. Lead the annual compensation cycle and bonus plan design and plan rules. 
  • Setup the governance and compliance model for the reward processes, be the expertise liaison towards the legal team around employment matters. 
  • Manage equity administration and communication, preparing future strategy for evolution of the equity approach fitting the upcoming stages of the company. 
  • Take a proactive, leadership role in business transformation that impacts people and rewards. This includes autonomous growth, M&A and joint venture collaboration with strategic partners or other large scale business transformation projects.
  • Lead the global people operations team ensuring flawless execution and compliance as well as driving a highly engaging employee service and experience for the employees and managers. 
  • Build out the people analytics functions, creating a data driven approach to people strategy and progress of our strategic direction. HC controlling will become an eminent part of this to align business strategy with employee HC evolution, and talent needs as well as financial impact of the talent base. 
  • Strategize on the evolution of the HR technology platforms that are currently in place building a future proof, scalable IT infrastructure for the people processes. 
  • You are part of the People Leadership team and report directly to the Chief People Officer

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …

  • Extensive knowledge (>8 yrs) of the compensation domain including job architecture design, compensation benchmarking and incentive models. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in larger transformations and change/growth programs driving the reward agenda and alignment with board, executive team as well as ensuring engaging communication with employees and managers. 
  • Experience with multiple European countries displaying the ability to dive deep into the different geographies - understanding local talent trends and demands of the market as well as local legislation changes, leveraging the local people team network.
  • Experience in driving an operational excellence and process optimization culture, building high performing teams leveraging people’s talent and career aspirations.
  • Data driven and technologically savvy with experience in implementing new HR tech infrastructures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ideally experienced and excited about working in start-up or scale-up organizations
  • Up to speed with new insights in C&B, trends, best practices displaying a drive for change and innovation keeping sennder highly competitive in the talent market.
