About the role

The Director of Warehousing and Logistics will have a direct impact on our customer experience and is the last in line to ensure their orders are received accurately, on time, and packaged correctly. Additionally, this leader will ensure that Vendor Partners' orders are received promptly and that any inbound non-conformance is resolved and reported. We operate with a longstanding commitment to using best practice applications in all warehouse operations while also being constantly integrating more efficient processes. Our success models are based on shipping orders on-time, with order accuracy perfection, and that we operate within our Operations Budget requirements.

  • You will oversee company activities related to logistics and warehousing/distribution including shipping, receiving, put-away, pick/pack, returns, staff and material transfers
  • You will maintain and improve the accuracy and efficiency of distribution center operations
  • You will establish policies and procedures that result in the maximization of sales through timely and accurate deliveries
  • You will evaluate our distribution network and work with our domestic and international 3PL providers to review their performance against defined KPI's
  • You will oversee the 1PL distribution center and be responsible for forecasting, staff budgeting, and expenses
  • You will manage decisions on matters that have a significant impact on business operations, financial results, our vendor relationships, and most importantly our anime community
  • You will manage and measure logistics processes including; shipping, warehouse, carrier activity, and damaged products claims identifying exceptions or high-cost deviations and making procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines
  • You will establish and create real-time, focused benchmarks and MBOs/KPIs for each operational aspect of logistics performance
  • You will be responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and performance reviews

In the role of Director of Warehousing and Logistics you will report to the Vice President, eCommerce.

We are considering applicants local to Grimes, Iowa or willing to relocate before agreed upon start date.

About You
  • 12+ years working with a warehouse distribution environment (B2C preferred) and at least 5 years in a management capacity
  • You have a solid understanding and experience with inventory management disciplines and procedures in hard goods
  • You are an avid juggler with the ability to manage vendors, multiple tasks, and projects without dropping the ball
  • Your 2-3 years experience working within an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) and your familiarity with warehouse software picking and inventory control management software systems
  • You have a team-first mentality and can calm any storm!
