At Butternut Box, we're dedicated to creating a workplace where every team member can thrive. We are seeking a Diversity & Wellbeing Lead to join our People team.
In this role, you will be a pivotal part of our commitment to inclusivity across our Operational sites, the expert in fostering a diverse environment and building a future-proof plan, all whilst delivering hands-on support on individual situations. You will create and drive our full DE&I Strategy for Operations with the wider People and Leadership Teams.
You will be accountable for bringing groups together to assist in reaching resolutions, building capability and supporting important messages. You will foster understanding, respect, and support, driving productivity across a diverse team.
We already have a cohort of Mental Health First Aiders who you will work with (and any other future similar support groups) long term to build meaningful plans, ensure they are fully equipped to support our squad and know that you are there for them equally for situational and personal support.
🌟Responsibilities🌟
Personal Partnership:
- Collaborate with Individuals, Managers, and the People (HR) Leads to design customised accommodation plans for squad members requiring them - this could be due to (but not exclusively) personal situations, neurodiversity, physical disability or mental health.
- Provide counselling or coaching to support the individual in meeting any plans or adjustments, ensuring success.
- Provide one-to-one guidance to managers and people leads, helping them navigate specific situations from workplace adjustments and performance conversations to adjustments to support career growth.
- Work closely with the People team to oversee and track accommodation requests, ensuring effective implementation and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Offer mediation and conflict resolution support to address equality disparity misunderstandings or challenges.
- Assist People Managers in finding fair solutions considering all team members' diverse needs and viewpoints.
- Handle interactions with the utmost confidentiality, sensitivity, and respect for the privacy of individuals.
- Create a safe space for open dialogues about challenges and concerns, nurturing an environment of trust and empathy.
Advocacy, Resource Development & Education:
- Create, partner and drive our full DE&I Strategy in Operations.
- Develop and facilitate training programs that enhance awareness and understanding of DE&I, catering to employees, People Managers, and the People team.
- Provide insights on evaluating the success of accommodations and making necessary adjustments based on feedback.
- Stay informed about DE&I's latest research, best practices, and resources in DE&I to provide accurate and effective support.
- Curate resources, tools, and guides related to the most critical focus areas, making them easily accessible to employees, People Managers, and the People team.
- Collaborate with external partners, organisations, and experts to expand available support options.
🎓About you🎓
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Social Work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Diversity Specialism experience and Physical Disability awareness
- Counselling qualification or background desired but not essential
- Comprehensive understanding of neurodiversity, including conditions but not exclusive to depression, autism, ADHD, and anxiety disorders.
- Prior experience in HR, employee support, or related roles, demonstrating your ability to provide guidance and solutions in complex scenarios.
- Exceptional communication skills which allow you to convey information with clarity and empathy to diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for effectively managing accommodation requests and documentation.
- A team-oriented mindset enables you to collaborate across departments and build strong working relationships.
- Non-judgmental attitude and patience, with a genuine passion for fostering inclusivity and understanding.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations concerning accommodations and workplace diversity.

- This role cannot be done remotely and requires a large amount of on-site presence
- * Salary, holiday and Paws Day will be pro rata for those working part time
