ELECTRICIANAt SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to 4M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and the Electrician will play a critical role in the maintenance of the Redmond campus. The Electrician position will provide provides maintenance, support and coordination for electrical components and facility needs. They will operate as a point of contact for electrical maintenance vendors and tradesmen across the campus, working in collaboration with Facilities Management, the Electrician will oversee electrical service request, preventative maintenance, external vendor/ tradesperson scheduling, and coordination of access to campus buildings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Perform LOTO to ensure safe isolation and verification of zero energy state
- Troubleshoot new and existing electrical systems, including new and existing machinery
- Perform preventative repair and maintenance of electrical systems, devices, and equipment
- Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability, phase rotation and conductivity
- Installation of electrical wiring and components to design and code specifications
- Operation of test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, meggers and circuit tracers
- Perform other assigned duties ensuring efficient and effective work environments
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of professional experience in commercial equipment wiring, maintenance, and repair
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- State of Washington Journeyman license
- Experience with 3-phase electrical systems
- Experience with 480/277 volt and 208/120-volt systems
- Adapts well within a team setting
- Demonstrated skill in practicing safety requirements and OSHA standards when working with hazardous energy, heavy loads, working with heights and operating equipment
- Able to identify and implement efficient paths of action to complete assigned work
- Ability to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices and controls
- Ability to use a variety of electrician’s hand tools as well as measuring and testing instruments
- Demonstrable knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations and standards of electrical equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports
- Excellent communication and computer skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work first shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends and overtime
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand, lifting 25 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights
- Ability to work in outdoor environments requiring exposure to heat and cold
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Electrician/Level 1: $22.00 - $29.00/hourElectrician/Level 2: $27.00 - $34.50/hourElectrician/Level 3: $32.00 - $40.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
