Engineering Manager | Bankrate

Red Ventures is looking for an Engineering Manager who is an AI enthusiast. You will lead a team focused on leveraging AI technologies to enhance the web content publishing platform for Bankrate.com. You will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the end-to-end experience for our editorial staff. Our small, remote optional team is dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge AI tech to continuously build and improve our platform, ensuring efficiency and innovation are at the forefront of our content publishing processes. As a key part of our organization, you will collaborate across departments to align AI strategies with broader business goals, driving forward our mission of delivering high-quality financial content.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage a mostly remote team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that leverages AI and automation to build a world class content publishing platform.
- Strategic AI Implementation: Develop and execute AI strategies to optimize content creation, editing, and publishing workflows, enhancing the efficiency and satisfaction of our editorial staff.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, product, and technology teams to align AI initiatives with business objectives and ensure seamless integration into existing systems.
- Innovation and Experimentation: Drive continuous improvement by researching and implementing new AI technologies and methodologies, ensuring Bankrate.com remains at the cutting edge of content publishing.
- Performance Management: Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members to maximize their potential and impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to advocate for AI solutions and demonstrate their impact on business outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security are maintained across all AI-driven projects.
- Talent Acquisition and Development: Identify and recruit diverse talent to build a strong, versatile team that can adapt to the evolving demands of AI technologies in web publishing.
Work Experience
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AI and Machine Learning: Experience with AI Agentic workflows, machine learning in real world use cases.
- Web Development Expertise: Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Node).
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with architecting scalable web applications using AWS services.
- Data Management: Proficient in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
- Programming Languages: Expertise in one or more programming languages with some PHP and Laravel experience.
- Content Management: Experience with WordPress, Contentful, Storyblok or similar CMS.
- Software Design: Experience designing and building full-stack web applications that scale.

- Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead and inspire a remote team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align AI solutions with business objectives.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated aptitude for identifying challenges and developing creative, effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate changes in technology and business direction, maintaining a forward-thinking approach.
Experiences:
- AI Project Leadership: Previous experience leading AI-driven projects. Must have experience shipping AI solutions.
- Remote Team Management: Experience managing a distributed team, utilizing remote collaboration tools effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven track record of working with diverse teams, including editorial, product, and technology groups.
- Content Publishing Platforms: Experience with content management systems and publishing workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in engaging with stakeholders to advocate for and demonstrate the impact of AI solutions on business outcomes.
- Product Engineering: Experience building and iterating on product
Compensation
Cash Compensation Range: $130,000 - 190,000
*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
