Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who leads with clarity, drives outcomes, and thrives in a fast-moving SaaS environment. In this role, you will guide and coordinate our engineering teams within a matrix organization — helping them develop technically sound solutions for complex problems, while working closely with Product and Operations to align priorities, remove blockers, and build a high-performance engineering culture.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and retain a team of software engineers — you own feedback cycles, development plans, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Navigate a matrix organization with confidence: coordinate across Engineering, Product, and Operations, manage competing priorities, and keep all stakeholders aligned
  • Shape and maintain the engineering roadmap in close alignment with Product and company goals, and actively contribute to quarterly planning
  • Support key architecture decisions in close collaboration with your team leads — providing direction without micromanaging the technical details
  • Identify technical risks early and drive mitigation proactively across the relevant teams
  • Foster an AI-first mindset across your teams and set the expectation that engineering workflows are continuously improved through AI tooling
  • Own headcount planning, budget, and compensation in close collaboration with People & Culture

Your Qualifications

  • Seasoned People Leader with a proven track record of building and leading engineering teams — you know how to get the best out of people and are not afraid of tough conversations
  • Deeply comfortable in outcome-oriented environments: you set the bar high and hold yourself and your teams accountable for results
  • SaaS experience is a must — you understand the pace and trade-offs of a product-led environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — you communicate clearly, manage expectations proactively, and build trust at all levels
  • Technically fluent enough to engage with engineers and make informed decisions — without needing to be the deepest technician in the room
  • Experienced in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban or similar)
  • A background in cybersecurity is a plus — terms like WAF, DDoS, or cloud infrastructure are familiar territory
  • Fluent English is required; German is a plus
