About the role:
In this role you will be managing a team that is working on building a new service to enable a different workflow type. Our existing workflow engine supports linear execution of a workflow, and we are looking at building the non-linear execution capability that would help us tackle many more market cases. The build of this non-linear execution and case management could take quarters to build and launch! We might also be looking at building agentic workflow that is another trend of workflow usage in the market.
Nintex is going through a very exciting time of growth and development, and you, as an engineering manage will be responsible for the lead of this growing team!
Your contribution will be:
Engineering
- Ensure your team writes correct code (e.g., C#, .NET, NodeJS, semantic HTML, pipeline YAML, etc.)
- Know the core concepts in the Service Reliability strategy and manage your team’s services to SLOs and SLIs.
- Work closely with Product Management and User Experience Designers to define required product features and behavior in detail, sufficient to create the required design, resourcing, and development plans.
- Monitor new code and designs to identify where test coverage needs adjustment. Make sure that the test requirements are met and integrated into pipelines appropriately.
- Gather and assess all the relevant input to make quality, durable decisions
- Champion quality, making sure it is a priority in your team and across projects.
- Follow security best practices, oversee the creation of secure code, and lead teams in threat modeling.
Delivery
- Understand and run your team according to agile principles and use data (velocity, burn down, etc.) to track status and improve team performance.
- Identify opportunities and contribute to initiatives that reduce and standardize tooling to streamline our processes, “ways of working” and reduce overhead.
- Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize user stories in line with the product roadmap and to plan product release timelines.
- Oversee the development of all product features in your domain in a manner that meets delivery commitments.
- You play your assigned role in the Incident Management process, including contributing where your technical and problem-solving skills apply, and also creating space for your staff to engage as the incident’s impact level requires.
Team Management
- Coach, support, and enable team members in achieving personal growth and career objectives.
- Lead by example by promoting and embodying Nintex’s values.
- Conduct effective team workforce planning and forecasting.
- Create training plans collaboratively with your team members to produce the skill sets required in the relevant domains.
- Lead hiring cycles and work close with our Talent team to hire the best possible talent out there.
To be successful, we think you need:
- Proven experience (6+ years) as a software engineer, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
- Strong technical background with experience in .NET, C#, NodeJS, Azure.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and managing the full software development lifecycle.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about technical challenges and solutions.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration skills with a focus on cross-functional teamwork.
