About the Role:

Job Title:  Firmware Test Engineer

Experience: 5 - 8 years

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

As a Test Engineer, you must perform manual testing on test benches and OEM customer vehicle platforms using a requirements-driven approach. You must also Validate Sibros products with high confidence, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Finally, you must design validation processes with scalability in mind to cater to all customers.

What you’ll do: 
  • Collaborate with Product, Firmware and Software teams to understand features and come up with a detailed test plan
  • Responsible to lead validation efforts for multiple internal and customer projects through manual and automated test executions
  • Responsible for executing test procedures against customer vehicle platforms and other test systems for Sibros Product Releases.
  • Perform requirement analysis, test case design, test execution, and test result reporting.
  • Monitoring and storing the relevant logs for the tests performed and maintaining traceability to the executed test cases.
  • Manage the end-to-end traceability between requirements and test cases.
  • Responsible for bug identification and troubleshooting based on instructions mentioned in manuals.
  • Responsible for performing sanity, regression, and full volume tests of the release build.
  • Occasional travel directly to OEM customer facilities and service centers to perform tests, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testbenches
What you should know:
  • 3+ years of experience in firmware or software testing roles.
  • Possess a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. 
  • Fluent in English. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with testing in the automotive industry
  • Experience in using and/or setting up hardware-based test systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, electrical circuits, and basic circuit design.
  • Exposure to test automation and framework development activities.
  • Experience in using and/or setting up hardware-based test systems.
  • Experience testing frontend UI and backend API elements of web portals
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  • Working knowledge of CAN (Controller Area Network) on automobiles and various CAN-based tools like Vector/Busmaster
  • Basics of UDS (Unified Diagnostics Services)
  • Basics of Linux shell commands
