The Growth Marketing team at Airbnb is at the intersection of marketing, engineering and data science. Our work is imperative to driving the top line of the entire company. As a Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you will play a critical role in managing Airbnb's relationship with our guests in Japan.
The Difference You Will Make:
The Growth Marketing Lead, Japan will lead all Growth Marketing activations in the Japan market. You will be able to represent all Growth Market channels amongst Japan leadership, while being an extension of the team in HQ. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Brand Marketing, FP&A, Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Design. This role utilizes a strong analytical background with a passion for executing scalable Growth Marketing strategies. Additionally, you will own merchandising and marketing landing pages from start to finish independently. You will be able to take abstract concepts to create a marketing strategy, merchandising plan and own the planning, execution, and delivery. Success in this role means understanding the value of Growth Marketing levers and representing those insights in Japan leadership conversations.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of general knowledge of Growth Marketing while being an expert in product merchandising landing pages.
A Typical Day:
Cross Channel Marketing:
- Be a growth marketing channel expert to help accelerate growth in the Japanese market; be able to manage a broad spectrum of Growth Marketing tactics to acquire new users and retain existing users.
- Represent strategic growth initiatives in leadership business reviews; providing insights into channel trends, impact of key initiatives, and cascade insights to team
- Have general knowledge of campaign optimization strategies to drive efficiency (Paid Channels), acquisition and retention tactics (Engagement), and organic levers, and familiarity w/ marketing automation tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional (remote) teams including brand marketing, creative, engineering and analytics to inform growth marketing strategies for Japan. This includes identifying key growth opportunities through both quantitative and qualitative analyses for Japan, and evangelizing these opportunities to cross-functional teams.
- Be highly analytical and technical; be an expert in tracking, audience creation, measurement, attribution, optimization, and automation across the Airbnb platforms
Merchandising:
- Lead the merchandising strategy, inventory curation, execution, optimization, and campaign reporting of marketing landing pages
- Create and execute (build, QA, troubleshoot, launch) various landing pages that adhere to Airbnb’s brand, design and legal guidelines, across multiple breakpoints and languages using Airbnb’s internal content management tool
- Collaborate with regional partners and stakeholders to localize global marketing strategies into local merchandising plans with a focus on APAC
- Leverage data/insights, product features, and technical capabilities to make world-class merchandising plans and recommendations that drive conversion
- Stay updated with industry best practices: Continuously stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in growth marketing. Share insights and knowledge with the team to drive innovation and growth.
Your Expertise:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in Growth Marketing channels and product merchandising
- Strong understanding of Japanese Market and consumer behavior
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Track record of creating successful landing pages, piloting new ideas, and measuring the impact and iterating to constantly improve
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes, and a desire to constantly reassess and optimize
- Self-managed with ability to work independently and successfully in ambiguous and remote environment
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented with sharp technical and product skills to a degree of perfection for flawless execution
