OVO is transforming the relationship with its supply chain to deliver better outcomes for customers. We’re moving away from traditional transactional contracts to collaborative arrangements where the collective capabilities of OVO and its supply chain can be brought together working in cross functional teams to jointly deliver great outcomes for customers.

This role will be the figurehead for delivering and maturing this change in approach - if you’ve got a track record of doing this effectively (regardless of sector) this role could be the one for you.

 

This role in a nutshell:

This new role offers a huge opportunity to join OVO and an incredible forward thinking dynamic leadership team at a key moment in the company’s transformation.

You’ll lead the Commercial Fulfilment team reporting to the Director of Customer Fulfilment and lead on all of OVO’s key commercial relationships associated with fulfilling metering related work in customers homes. This involves a wide range of planned and emergency activity, plus the delivery of long term commitments on the upgrade of millions of metering assets in customer’s homes over the next decade.

This role will lead a team of experts who manage the following:

  • A range of suppliers delivering field based metering services (Smart meter installation, and emergency and maintenance work).
  • A variety of contractual arrangements supporting our internal team of 600 engineers including external manufacturers, tools, equipment and consumables suppliers.
  • Management of OVO’s Fleet encompassing c.800 vehicles including the management of the associated contracts and support to our internal team.

Being clear on who is accountable for what at OVO is key to our way of working, the key to doing this however is being an expert collaborator across the following:

  • Commercial Strategy: You’ll develop and enact the commercial strategy, build plans, mobilise and transform OVO’s approach to Customer Fulfilment delivered via the supply chain across a 10 year time horizon. 
  • Delivery: Accountable for all metering fulfilment activity delivered by the supply chain nationwide to millions of customers nationally. 
  • Outcomes: Accountable for delivering a range of customer experience, work volumes (order book), financial and regulatory outcomes. 
  • Financial: Contracts are collectively valued at over £70m across 40+ suppliers with 80% of the spend with the top 9. 
  • Stakeholders/Regulators: You will support conversations with key stakeholders, government and regulators to ensure we can effectively work together to deliver for customers.
  • People: Alongside leading your direct team, you will indirectly be accountable for the extended OVO family working nationally through our partners. Those people represent OVO and our brand and so you will have a key role to influence outcomes through the contracts to ensure we deliver exceptional experiences for customers.   
  • Commercial: Beyond the commercial strategy, you will be accountable for the day to day management of a broad range of contracts and you will ensure your team has the appropriate payment, contract administration and performance mechanisms in place.

Beyond these core parts of the role change, risk and people management will be key to your success as you build your vision for the future and navigate your way there with our cross functional teams.

You’ll be a successful Head of Commercial Fulfillment at OVO if you…

We’ll pay you between £82,980- £109,531, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!

We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.

You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
