About the role 

As the Head of People, UK (Commercial), you will play a key leadership role in shaping how we support, develop, and engage our people in commercial and corporate functions, across multiple sites, nationwide. You’ll be at the forefront of transforming our HR operations, leading strategic change, and embedding a strong, scalable culture that aligns with both local and global priorities. This role will form part of our UK Senior Management Team and the successful candidate will actively business partner with the SMT and MB, working on key strategic initiatives. What you’ll do
  • Manage the UK-based Head Office People teams including Workplace & Culture, People Insights & Reward, People Services,  Business Partnering (for commercial functions), and Payroll.
  • Work closely with our Global People Operations Team and UK People Operations Team in our distribution network. 
  • Be the UK point of contact for alignment, consistency, and shared best practices with our Global Centres of Excellence.
  • Be the local point of delivery for global initiatives from the COEs with strong collaboration and execution skills. 
  • Become the local owner of the UK People Budget working closely with the Management Board and CEO on our performance review cycle. 
  • Mentor, upskill, and empower the UK HR team to drive operational excellence and long-term capability.
  • Continue the transformation of ways of working within the UK People function, supporting the shift to scalable, efficient local and global HR services.
Who you are
  • 5–7 years of experience as an HR generalist with deep knowledge across multiple HR domains.
  • 1-3 years of proven leadership experience managing and developing HR teams.
  • Experience with HR business partnering for commercial/corporate functions, for all levels up to senior leadership
  • Experience working within a global, matrixed organisation, with the ability to navigate and influence across local and international teams.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to act independently and manage organisational change effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-first approach.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with or within HR/People Services shared-service models.
  • Background in UK employment law or legal training related to employee relations.
