The Host Communications Editorial team informs and educates hosts about new products, important policy changes, and other relevant information to provide support at every stage of their journey.
The Difference You Will Make:
Airbnb is seeking a creative, strategic, and detail-driven Host Communications Editorial Lead to develop scaled communications and campaigns for home, experience, and service hosts. You’ll blend editorial strategy, deep writing and editing expertise, and an insights-driven approach to deliver actionable, engaging content across formats, including articles, emails, and in-product education.
You’ll partner closely with Host Communications strategists and cross-functional partners—including business, marketing, UX writing, product, and Help Center teams—to deliver relevant, best-in-class content for hosts.
Our ideal candidate is a seasoned writer and editor who excels at messaging, voice and tone, and storytelling—equally comfortable with strategic planning and hands-on execution. Their portfolio of varied work demonstrates success in brand communications, marketing, and UX writing. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Host Communications Editorial, and be based remotely in the United States.
A Typical Day:
- Transform strategic direction, research, and company goals into impactful and on-brand content
- Write clear and concise copy in all formats and across multiple product touchpoints, including articles, email, in-product education and microcopy, landing pages, and social posts
- Lead cross-team editorial projects from idea to launch, creating engaging content that supports Airbnb’s business priorities and the host experience
- Pioneer new content frameworks and formats that drive adoption and outcomes
- Define and uphold content principles, content systems, messaging frameworks, and style guides that scale globally
- Bring an audience-first approach and serve as a trusted writing expert and advocate for hosts
- Communicate efficiently and partner with strategists and cross-functional teams to define content objectives and editorial approach
- Build alignment and drive consensus with cross-functional stakeholders, inducing product, legal, and policy teams, on content recommendations
- Collaborate with marketing, UX writing, and Help Center teams to ensure a consistent and singular Airbnb voice
- Interview hosts, product teams, and other stakeholders
- Leverage analytics to understand reach, engagement, and host outcomes, and drive continuous content improvement
Your Expertise:
- 10+ years of writing experience in marketing, communications, UX writing, or content design, preferably on in-house teams at global brands
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content
- Experience working on UX-focused product writing and proficiency in Figma preferred
- Solid understanding of user research methodologies, A/B testing, and experimentation to inform creative solutions preferred
- Demonstrated success working with and presenting to executive teams
- Proven ability to anticipate and influence business challenges, influence senior stakeholders, and align editorial strategy with product roadmap
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Experience managing end-to-end content production, including coordinating with other teams
- Creative thinker and self-starter with a strong bias for action
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in an agile content development environment
- Operational fluency working with AI tools and platforms

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Pay Range$164,000—$205,000 USD
