Want to help us, help others? We’re hiring!

GoFundMe is a global community of over 150 million people who come together every day with the common purpose of helping one another. Our mission is to help people help each other through our best in class technology. In 2022, GoFundMe joined together with Classy, a leading nonprofit fundraising software company that enables nonprofits to connect supporters with the causes they care about. Together, we have empowered people and organizations to raise more than $30 billion since 2010. Our vision is to become the most helpful place in the world.

Join us! The platform is live in 20 countries around the world and the GoFundMe team in Australia is looking for a Jr Communications Manager to join the team in Sydney (or remotely in Australia, for the right candidate) to help build and execute the local communications and earned media strategy.

The central goal of this role will be to help amplify more voices and tell more stories of the fundraisers behind our platform and, importantly, the help they’re delivering on the ground in Australian and international communities.

As a member of a small team, we are looking for a strong team member with a growth mindset, who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and thrives off always striving to be better, improving the team’s efficiencies and capabilities.

  • Work closely with corporate affairs leads to identify and elevate crowdfunding trend data to key Australian media outlets
  • Own the social media and content strategy across owned channels
  • Own the communications team metrics and reporting, advising on ways to drive efficiencies to reach targets
  • Work closely with global colleagues to better understand how the Australian and International teams can better collaborate to work towards mutually beneficial goals
  • Be across breaking issues and potential for local campaigns by monitoring live news feeds, social platforms, and digital sources to assemble and distribute the most engaging GoFundMe campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters to generate positive news
  • Respond to reporter inquiries on an ongoing basis

You…

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in a role where the above skills were applied
  • Are a self-starter and take extreme ownership of your professional responsibilities
  • Have a growth mindset; enjoy seeking new and efficient ways to reach goals
  • Write and communicate clearly
  • Demonstrated creativity in driving communications and maximising media opportunities
  • Ideal but not essential: experience in building digital audience and social media strategy
