About The Team:As part of our Facilities team, the Junior Compliance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring legal compliance across our Windmill site in Derby. Working closely with the Operational Excellence team, this role manages non-conformities, creates and assign tasks through the CMMS system, and oversee both internal technicians and third-party contractors. This role also involves maintaining compliance logs, coordinating facility maintenance, and supporting contractor approvals. Acting as a junior facilities manager in function, this position offers a clear pathway to progress into a Facilities Manager role.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement facility policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage asset inventory and maintenance schedules (including HVAC, electrical systems, and building equipment) using the CMMS system.
  • Oversee site security, fire safety, and emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate and manage facility renovations, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Identify and rectify defects found during PPMs, documenting actions in the maintenance manual and recording all completed work within the CMMS system.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement processes.
  • Undertake problem-solving activities and escalate issues to the Senior Facilities Manager as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facilities to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Who You Are:

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in facility management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and facility management software.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Advantageous and Desirable, Qualifications and Knowledge

  • BIFM or IWFM certification.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience in food or FMCG manufacturing/distribution environments.
  • Proficiency with CAFM and/or CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience working in temperature-controlled environments.
  • Understanding of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices.

Location: The Windmill, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7HW

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week (On Site)
