Legal Analyst
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Legal Analyst to join their Legal, Risk and Corporate Responsibility Department in Plantation, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity that requires the successful candidate to support the Chewy Health legal team on a number of regulatory, compliance, operational and legal administration matters.
The right candidate will have an interest in healthcare and regulatory matters, a strong sense of accountability and excellent writing and communication skills. Successful candidates must be able to pursue tasks to completion, take initiative in creating and streamlining work processes, and work effectively on a variety of simultaneously active healthcare matters.
This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. The candidate will have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organizational skills, and can easily switch gears. The candidate will possess a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside of Chewy.
What you'll do:
- Act as point of contact for legal support requests for Chewy’s Health division.
- Assist with compliance and regulatory requirements of Chewy’s Health division and conduct related legal research and benchmarking.
- Manage various short- and long-term legal projects.
- Prepare legal documents, including drafting and editing contracts, amendments, and regulatory filings.
- Create and maintain internal legal and business facing standard operating procedures and other
- Work with outside counsel to coordinate and progress legal matters.
- Organize, maintain, and keep current various form libraries, files, corporate policies, and legal documents.
- Proofread, complete legal quality check, and format a variety of legal documents.
- Provide general administrative support, including calendaring, coordinating events, assisting with presentations and trainings. Act as a primary resource or “go to” for the team.
- Be a team player who is willing to take on a variety of tasks.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters.
- Superior organization skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels in and out of the organization.
- Ability to problem solve and think critically with minimal supervision.
- Current Florida notary public or ability to obtain become a Florida notary public.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and online research tools; willingness to own/maintain relevant software.
- Common sense, sound judgement, proactiveness.
- Position does not require travel.
