Legal counsel

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team and work closely with our Head of Legal in supporting FirstVet’s continued growth across multiple markets.
The roleAs Legal Counsel at FirstVet, you will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing pragmatic and business-oriented legal support in a fast-paced, international environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing hands-on legal advice in strategic and operational matters across Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the UK, often with a cross-border perspective
Supporting commercial teams, HR, product, tech, and other group functions with clear and practical legal guidance
Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contracts, general terms & conditions, policies, and other legal documentation, as well as improving legal processes
Advising on corporate law, employment law, and GDPR, translating legal requirements into business-friendly solutions
Mapping and assessing regulatory requirements within the veterinary and digital health space
Coordinating and managing external counsel in different jurisdictions when needed
Communicating legal risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
While we operate across multiple markets, this role is based in Stockholm and comes with a flexible hybrid way of working. We value the balance of working from home and spending time at our Stockholm office, especially for collaboration with HR, Finance, and the CEO.
Who we are looking forWe are looking for someone who combines solid legal expertise with a strong business mindset and enjoys working closely with the organisation.
You likely have:
A Swedish law degree (Juristexamen)
At least 4 years of relevant legal experience
Background from a law firm and/or an in-house role
Strong knowledge of corporate law, employment law, and GDPR
Experience working with UK law or in a UK context (a strong advantage)
Excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish
The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with others
