Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to our Bristol hub for this role. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

You’ll be part of the One Finance function at OVO, within the Accounting & Reporting team focussing on our Home Services business.
Overall, as a Finance Team, we’re responsible for ensuring accuracy, optimising processes and systems, simplifying reporting and driving performance to deliver the most effective returns on capital.
This role in a nutshell:
Reporting into the OVO Services (Home, Smart Metering, ZCL & Franchise) Senior Finance Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the Home Services Accounting & Reporting process.
Home Services provides boiler insurance cover alongside an annual boiler service to nearly 300,000 customers. Home Services also provide a boiler install service.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate ledgers throughout the month, producing and presenting insightful month end reporting and analysis, and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Lead in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis at a Brand level, identification of opportunities and risks and reporting of critical metrics;
- Completing accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations ensuring compliance with OVO standards
- Building relationships and business partnering key stakeholders in the provision of insightful analysis of revenue, costs and key performance indicators against budget/forecasts;
- Supporting technical accounting entrieson new product and proposition launches
- Support with external information requests relating to Home Services business for example Audit and Ofgem requests for information;
- Support with the interim and annual audit process
- Ensuring continuous improvement and simplification of processes;
- Helping to improve the efficiency of the finance team processes and controls by sharing ideas and knowledge;
- Providing additional and ad-hoc support in line with the finance managers and business’ needs.
Within your first 6 months you’ll:
- Grasp and run with the already established Home Services accounting processes.
- Build relationships and a network of contacts within Finance and Business functions.
You’ll be a successful Management Accountant at OVO if you…
- Have prior experience in an accounting and reporting role and solid technical knowledge
- Possess a thorough approach to work with great interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Are comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, proposing, justifying and implementing change.
- Are diligent with a preference for attention to detail, and willing to dig and investigate at depth to resolve problems.
- Have excellent stakeholder management skills engaging with various teams and senior leaders.
- Microsoft office experience as a minimum. Google suite and Workday experience is desirable but not essential.
- Hold an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
