As an Engineering Manager of the Community Engagement team, you will be at the forefront of Pinterest's vision to build a positive community of users who learn from and interact with each other. With opportunities to drive the strategy for this vision and lead the development of 0 to 1 projects, you will have the chance to make a significant impact and help shape the future of the community experience on Pinterest.
In this role, you’ll lead a team of talented engineers towards smooth execution of our product roadmap. You’lll partner directly with product managers and designers to shape a product roadmap to delight our users and contribute to our business goals. The role will collaborate closely with various teams, including trust and safety and other product engineering teams to work together to create a safe and holistic experience for our users across the world.
What you'll do:
- Manage a cross-platform (Android/iOS/Web/Backend) engineering team through the process of planning and executing against those outcomes, delivering software experiences and solutions of the highest quality.
- Mentor engineers through their career journey, from early career through staff level.
- Build a strong team culture that aims for extraordinary and creates belonging.
- Maintain a high level of product quality and polish.
- Evolve our technical foundation to improve extensibility of the platform.
- Analyze data to derive product insights and to inform our decisions.
- Shape the team’s strategy and roadmap with partners on Product Management, Design, Data Science and Research.
What we're looking for:
- 6+ years of product engineering experience as an individual contributor. You have built consumer facing products.
- 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager. You have people managed before.
- Strong people development skills. You have helped people grow in their careers.
- Strong product sense for consumer products. You are an ideator and a collaborator.
- Proven track record of successfully launching complex consumer-focused products that deliver business and strategic impact. You have delivered impactful product work.
- Strong project management skills. Your team gets things done.
- Experience working across multiple teams to align on roles and responsibilities and work together towards shared outcomes. You work well with others.
- Direct experience with more than one of the technologies we use: Web, Android, iOS, Python, Java. You have technical depth AND breadth of experience.
