Role Description

We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for all external connections into our proprietary Voice platform. This is a critical role that will own the product and infrastructure strategy for how we connect to legacy systems and external networks. You will manage a team of talented engineers and have a direct impact on the scalability and reliability of our core Trader Voice application.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Own the product roadmap and technical strategy for our external connectivity solutions, including private wire, dial tone, and intercom over SIP.
  • Drive the infrastructure strategy for our Session Border Controllers (SBCs), with an eye toward vendor consolidation and optimization.
  • Evaluate and implement a new, scalable PBX solution to replace our existing Open Source based system. This could involve building a new solution in-house, sourcing a third-party product, or figuring out how to cluster our current setup to handle increased scale.
  • Work closely with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends in VoIP, SIP, and WebRTC.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably managing teams that work on real-time communication systems.
  • Deep expertise in SIP protocols.
  • Extensive experience with VoIP infrastructure, including Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and PBX systems.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and real-time media transport.
  • Experience with Freeswitch or FusionPBX is a plus.
  • Experience with WebRTC protocols. A strategic mindset with the ability to define and execute on long-term technical roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
