MongoDB is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to join our international finance team located in Gurgaon, India to manage compliance, reporting & governance for the EU, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific region. The Indirect Tax Manager role is critical to the success of the Tax Department and will support the rapid growth of our business. This is an individual contributor role. As the Indirect Tax Manager, you will support all areas of EMEA and APAC indirect compliance, planning, audit defence, and tax governance for the entities under management. 

The Indirect Tax Manager will work closely with the Tax Team based in India, Singapore, Ireland, and the US. To be successful, this team member must have the ability to adapt quickly and operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment and align well with MongoDB’s core values. Shift Timing: 2pm – 10pm

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model.

• Preparing and reviewing indirect tax computations and draft returns and working with external tax advisors to ensure returns are submitted and paid on a timely and accurate basis
• Proactively identify weaknesses in current processes and procedures relating to indirect tax matters and identify solutions including automation so that issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Assisting with the management of internal and external Indirect Tax focused audits
• Reviewing the VAT issues under audit and performing audit readiness assessment
• Prepare VAT accruals and monthly reconciliation of tax accounts
• Work closely with internal cross functional partners providing tax support as required, including coordinating and working with external advisors and financial auditors as needed
• Reviewing Indirect Tax developments including legislative changes and working with external tax advisors to ensure the company remains compliant from an Indirect Tax perspective
• Supporting and managing ad hoc tax projects as required

• Significant experience managing indirect tax compliance for a multinational company
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally within the business
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of work as part of a multi geographical team in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with external consultants and internal teams
• Strong record of meeting deadlines and resolving queries
• Strong MS Excel and numerical skills
• Understanding of accounting systems e.g. NetSuite
• 5+ years’ experience
