We’re looking for a Managing Director, Sales to lead our monetization efforts in Germany. Reporting to our Head of Enterprise Sales in Europe, you'll be responsible for setting forth the overall sales strategy for the German market and work closely with cross-functional partners to drive revenue growth for our emerging business in these countries. You'll develop the teams as we establish our presence and drive fast growth of our ads business in Germany. As a Managing Director, this sales leader will be tasked with developing and executing a local strategy, as well as a wide range of general management responsibilities. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead our sales strategy and execution for Enterprise Sales in Germany.
  • Develop market and competitive assessments to identify and drive new opportunities for Pinterest in Germany.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop a market strategy that enables Pinterest to win the market by meeting partner marketing objectives, scaling partner media investment, and creating meaningful and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Build on established relationships and develop new relationships with industry CEOs, CMOs, and other key executive decision-makers and industry associations in the German market.
  • Shape the future of our German Sales organization by building, training and motivating a high performing, diverse sales team based on an inclusive, positive culture.
  • Partner closely with cross functional teams to analyze data trends and client performance, as to scale shared learnings and best practices to grow client’s business through Pinterest solutions.
  • As part of our European leadership team, contribute to the success of the region through collaborating across countries and organizations.
  • Act as an external spokesperson and evangelize our brand in Germany.

 

What we're looking for:

  • At least 15+ years of experience in the media or advertising industry.
  • At least 10+ years of management experience including managing managers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, advertising or marketing, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success as an executive leader across revenue, strategy, sales productivity and industry partnerships.
  • Deep understanding and established network in the advertising market in Germany.
  • Strong understanding of performance, data, and measurement landscapes, with demonstrated experience using data and trends to develop winning strategies.
  • Strong focus on operational excellence by having introduced new performance measures, processes, and systems.
  • Native and/or Business fluency in German and English languages.
  • Outstanding go-to-market strategy and operational rigor for the successful execution of the sales strategy.
  • Strong leadership skills that inspire, drive urgency and challenge sales teams to think big and drive transformational thinking to advance team performance, health, and an inclusive culture.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership to drive discussions with the product and engineering teams driving alignment. Translating business needs into the roadmap.  Have opinions about the technology trade-offs.
  • Strong influencing skills to build and direct sales priorities and decisions.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills with the ability to translate insights, product information, and data into key client objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a start-up environment and incubating new businesses.
  • A passion for Pinterest.

In-Office Requirement Statement: 

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration at least once a week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following Pinterest offices: Hamburg or Munich. The role will also require regular travel within the country to meet clients and teams as well as several international trips a year. (Germany).
