Member Of Technical Staff - Firmware Validation
We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
Join the Direct Flash Module (DFM) team to help design, develop, and validate the DFM firmware, a core component of Pure Storage's innovative enterprise storage solutions. Your mission is to ensure the exceptional reliability and performance of our internally designed, high-performance, and cost-effective NAND flash storage device. You'll drive the quality of the DFM by focusing on comprehensive validation, particularly for complex exception and error scenarios, and collaborating closely with hardware and system software teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
-
Develop, implement, and maintain the firmware verification tests for key SSD/NAND features to ensure end-to-end coverage and stability for all DFM releases.
-
Design and deliver the FW regression test suite that assesses firmware stability during nightly/weekly runs, ensuring a robust quality gate for regular and milestone releases.
-
Investigate and debug complex firmware and hardware issues, creating failure analysis tools and processes to drive root cause identification and continuous improvement.
-
Increase development efficiency by enhancing internal automation and continuous integration (CI), streamlining the unit and regression testing pipelines.
-
Partner closely with the hardware, system software, and manufacturing teams to align validation efforts with design changes and production requirements.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Deep, hands-on experience in developing software to validate hardware components/systems and strong skills in both software and hardware debugging.
-
Expert-level knowledge of NAND Flash technology and the Firmware Architecture/Design within Solid State Drives (SSD) or comparable storage domains.
-
Proven ability to devise, implement, automate, and refine qualification methods independently, focusing on complex failure modes of flash-based devices.
-
Proficiency in Python (with exposure to Object-Oriented Programming) and experience with C/C++ for developing robust test frameworks and validation code.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of storage architectures, hardware design, and storage interfaces, preferably within an enterprise data storage or SSD component vendor environment.
-
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the {{Bengaluru}} office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
