Paralegal
This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our Fort Mill, SC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week. Alternatively, open to a remote employee living on the East Coast.
Red Ventures is seeking a Paralegal to join our legal team – the Charlotte Business Journal’s Outstanding Large Company Legal Department Winner for 2023! This Paralegal position will be primarily focused on corporate governance and making sure that all filings and company changes are promptly processed. Other role responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, as well as, assisting with litigation and employment matters. The work environment is fast-paced, often requiring that issues be addressed quickly. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, project management, organizational and collaborative skills and be detail-oriented.
What You'll Do:
- Provide legal support across various areas including litigation, intellectual property, employment law and corporate governance
- Provide specialized support to a designated practice or functional area within the legal department
- Offer guidance to company staff on routine matters based on supervising attorney guidelines
- Conduct research and resolve basic legal inquiries to assist attorneys in managing workload effectively
- Summarize matters efficiently and communicate clear next steps to business teams
- Collaborate with counsel to draft, review, redline, and negotiate contracts
- Understand acceptable contract terms when reviewing and redlining company form agreements
- Identify routine tasks and recommend ways to streamline the legal department's handling of such matters
- Proactively provide regular status updates on projects to supervisors and team members
- Utilize technology, including contract review and analysis AI tools to enhance efficiency
What We're Looking For:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred
- 2-5 years of paralegal experience, with prior in-house experience a plus
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using various databases and resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organization
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a deadline-driven setting
- Willingness to undertake new projects, learn different legal areas, and work autonomously or collaboratively
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to seek to understand and explore new opportunities for growth
- Strong dedication to maintaining a high standard of work and professionalism
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate professional judgment, a positive attitude and a sense of humor
- Individual based in, or willing to relocate to, the Charlotte, NC area is preferred, but open to a remote employee living on the East Coast
Compensation
- USA Compensation Range: $$33.66/hr - $40.87/hr*
- *Note actual compensation is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
