The Team:
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Business Partner (PBP) Generalist who will support our Workforce Identity Cloud (WIC) organization. As a member of the People Business Partner Team, the Generalist will get an opportunity to perform various People activities, including Talent Management, Engagement, Employee Development, Recognition, Compensation, and Compliance.
What you will do:
- Own and Lead people projects E2E to support People-first strategies within WIC
- Works closely with People Business Partners to guide and implement programs, policies, and initiatives with employees.
- Develop and monitor regular and ad-hoc reports to ensure People metrics are quantified and outcome-driven. Able to identify trends and proactively recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience.
- Provide consultative support and guidance to managers on the implementation/execution of core People programs
- Collaborate and consult with the COEs on designing and delivering People programs to deliver effective solutions to the business.
- Maintains and communicates global and local policies and procedures.
- Assists in the formulation of policies and procedures.
- Conducts research and analyzes data on assigned projects.
- Partners with People Operations and acts as local advisor to employees on People questions, such as employee data, compensation and benefits issues.
- Maintains records for reporting requirements.
- Supports employee recognition programs and processes.
- Consults with front-line management to influence and facilitate the development of their
- organizational priorities and related change initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage employee off-boarding process, including Workday workflow, communication with employees, exit-survey/exit interviews, and separation agreements.
- Develops and supports location programs and initiatives, including supporting Okta’s Culture and Values.
What you will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience is required.
- People Business Partner experience supporting teams of 100+ employees.
- Generalist experience supporting 500+ employees
- Experience supporting talent programs such as Performance Management, DIB, Top Talent
- Proficiency with Excel and other reporting tools.
- Experience supporting remote workers.
- Knowledge of employment legislation.
- Experience with Workday is preferred.
- Experience in a growing, global software environment is preferred.
- Experience with Google Suite is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to cope with pressure maintaining a high standard of deliverables.
- Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
- Ability to analyze data and propose methods for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a confidential environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving and changing environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate in various mediums to a wide variety of audiences.
- Strong ability to multi-task and respond effectively to changing priorities and demands

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$90,000—$149,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $111,000—$167,000 USDWhat you can look forward to as an Full-Time Okta employee!
